I heard some of my favorite bands and artists came out with new music. So, I did what I usually do: went on Spotify, searched Hailee Steinfeld and Fall Out Boy, and found out they came out with new music. Since I am shamelessly obsessed with Hailee Steinfeld since she came out with “Love Myself” on the radio, I looked her up first and came across her new single “Most Girls.”
As promised, I would continue my post series about my top 10 favorite authors that inspired me to find my career in writing. These writers are amazing at what they do. They either got me to put down my phone and do something else or they had me see the world in a whole other perspective than my own with their in depth characters and other worlds.
Most people listen to music at least once in their life time. As a writer, a student, and person who cannot sit still, I must listen to music while I work. Sometimes it can be distracting. Other times the music is a necessary thing for me to listen to in order to stay focused and be productive.
Many of people know about the new series that Netflix came out with a couple weeks ago, 13 Reasons Why. This show addresses heavy topics such as rape, bullying at schools, severe depression, and suicide when seventeen year old Hannah Baker leaves behind 13 tapes telling the story of her life and why she ended it to the people that caused her to end her life. Coming from someone who does not have severe depression but know people who lived similarly to Hannah, I had a lot of emotions and thoughts after I watched the show.
There are many authors out there that read something and was so blown away that they had to write it down. Then bam! They became a writer. For me it was a different story.
I didn’t gain a love for reading until I entered middle school. Before I used to hate reading because I never could really picture the story in my head. Then I picked up a book and never went back.
